Mr. Ring’s Landmark Case Against Donald J. Trump, Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr., And The Trump Organization
In 2008, Mr. Ring was approached by a client who had invested several years earlier over $150,000.00 in connection with the purchase of to-be-built condominium complex in Baja. In 2006 the development was advertised as being built by Donald J. Trump. Buyers like Mr. Ring’s client were told that the “Trump Ocean Resort Baja” would be “spectacular” and “special.” Mr. Ring’s clients were told that the Trump Organization would be turning Baja into the “new Cabo.”
After buyers like Mr. Ring’s client deposited $32.5 million toward the purchase of their “truly special” condominium, almost three years later, the only progress that could be seen was a massive hole in the ground. The Trump Ocean Resort Baja was not being built. All buyer deposits were gone. And, buyers like Mr. Ring’s client were told that Donald J. Trump was not the developer, and was merely the licensor. Mr. Trump was accepting no responsibility and almost 200 buyers were left high and dry.
Over the next four and one half years, Mr. Ring relentlessly pursued Donald J. Trump, Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr., the Trump Organization as well as their co-developers Irongate Development, Jason Grosfeld and Adam Fisher in a landmark case venued in Los Angeles County seeking the return of his clients’ money.
After almost five years of litigation, all responsible parties were finally held accountable and a successful settlement was achieved.
